Kṛṣṇa threw aside his own vow — that he would carry no weapon — in order to keep my vow.
The second udāharaṇa of the laharī (lead-in: dvitīyo, yathā prathame), cited from Bhāgavata 1.9.37 — the dying Bhīṣma's hymn, recalling how Kṛṣṇa broke his own promise to honor Arjuna's. 'mat-' is spoken in Bhīṣma's own voice: 'my' = Arjuna's, whom Bhīṣma is addressing the scene around.

He came at me like a lion charging to kill an elephant, his upper cloth slipping off as he ran. Both Jīva and Viśvanātha read hari here as 'lion,' not the name of Viṣṇu — the word carries both, and the simile turns on the lion sense.
śleṣa: hari means both 'lion' and 'Viṣṇu/Kṛṣṇa.' The stated simile (vākyārtha) is the lion; the second layer, that the charging figure is Hari himself, rides underneath. Jīva and Viśvanātha both spell out hariḥ = siṁha.

Jīva draws out the motive: at that moment, toward Bhīṣma — and toward his dear friend Arjuna — Kṛṣṇa found in me, a great offender by ill fortune, only a faint old shadow of devotion, and honored even that as if it were real devotion. He revealed a friendship that lifted my glory even while it cost him his own reputation.

yaḥ sva-māhātmya-hāni-sahanena api man-māhātmya-vardhana-lakṣaṇaṁ itthaṁ bandhutvaṁ vyañjitavān — who thus revealed a friendship that raised my glory even at the cost of his own.
Viśvanātha: he it is who thus revealed a friendship that lifted my glory — even at the price of bearing the loss of his own.

Viśvanātha closes as Jīva does: this same Kṛṣṇa would surely, in every way, show friendship to his pure servants.
