raghuvara yad abhūs tvaṁ tādṛśo vāyasasya
raghuvaraO best of the Raghus (Rāma)हे रघुवर (हे राम)
yat ... abhūḥ tvamin that you became — so the whole verse asks 'given that you were like this…' yat is the correlative setting up the concluding question in L4; picked up by tasya te in L4जो कि तुम हुए — यह 'यत्' आगे L4 के प्रश्न को खड़ा करता है (L4 में 'तस्य ते' से उठाया जाता है)

O Rāma, best of the Raghus — because you became so merciful even to the crow.
An udāharaṇa (illustrative verse) quoted from Yāmunācārya's Stotra-ratna (60), lead-in 'yathā vā yāmunācārya-stotre'. It illustrates Kṛṣṇa's forgiveness (kṣamā) / mercy as an uddīpana quality in the vibhāva-laharī (2.1); Viśvanātha (s2) makes the point that it shows Kṛṣṇa's mercy surpassing even Rāma's. The crow (vāyasa) is the Rāmāyaṇa episode of Jayanta, who offended Sītā.

paryavasānam syātwould come to rest / culminateपर्यवसान (अन्तिम फल) होगा
na tu kṣmāvattvebut not in [his] being forgiving tu marks the contrast; kṣmāvattva = the state of having forgivenessक्षमावत्त्व में नहीं ('तु' विरोध दिखाता है; क्षमावत्त्व = क्षमाशील होने का भाव)
ghana-dhvanau asahanatvātbecause of not tolerating the deep/thundering sound ablative of cause; locative ghana-dhvanau names what is not toleratedक्योंकि घन-ध्वनि (गरज) को सहन न कर पाने के कारण (पञ्चमी हेतु में; सप्तमी 'घन-ध्वनौ' उसे बताती है जो सहा नहीं जाता)
iti vicāryamthis is to be pondered / left open for reflectionयह विचारणीय है
idam punar udāharaṇam — this again an example; pūrvasya avajñāyām eva paryavasānam syāt — would culminate only in disregard of the former; na tu kṣmāvattve — not in his being forgiving; ghana-dhvanau asahanatvāt — because of intolerance at the deep sound; iti vicāryam — this is to be pondered
Jīva flags a difficulty: this example, taken strictly, would land only in disregard of the former case, not in real forgivingness — because there was intolerance at the deep/thundering sound. He leaves it as something to reflect on ('iti vicāryam'), not a settled reading.
Jīva does not resolve the point — he closes with 'iti vicāryam', 'to be pondered.' His phrasing 'na tu kṣmāvattve' (NOT in forgivingness) reads differently from Viśvanātha's 'itarasya tu kṣamāvattve' (but of the latter, in forgivingness) at the parallel place in c3.s1; the two commentators are left unharmonized.

Viśvanātha paraphrases the whole verse. To Rāma: the crow committed the offense of touching Sītā's bodice, yet thinking 'this one has surrendered and taken refuge in me,' you were merciful to him. Likewise, O Kṛṣṇa, you gave beautiful sāyujya even to Caidya (Śiśupāla), who offended you birth after birth. So what offense is left with no footing outside your forgiveness? Then, at the close: the former case culminates only in disregard, but the latter (Kṛṣṇa's) in real forgivingness — because of not tolerating the deep/thundering sound; and this, he says, is to be pondered.
At the tail Viśvanātha reads 'itarasya tu kṣamāvattve' — 'but of the latter, in forgivingness' — keeping real forgiveness for Kṛṣṇa's case; Jīva (c1.s2) instead has 'na tu kṣmāvattve', 'not in forgivingness.' The two are left as they stand, not harmonized. Viśvanātha also reads 'sundara-sāyujya' where the mūla (L3) has the vocative 'mugdha'.
