guṇair alam asaṅkhyeyair mahātmyaṁ tasya sūcyate |
guṇaiḥby his qualities instrumental of meansगुणों के द्वारा
alamenough — they suffice on their ownपर्याप्त हैं (और अधिक की आवश्यकता नहीं)
asaṅkhyeyaiḥand these qualities are countless instrumental, agreeing with guṇaiḥअसंख्य (उन्हीं गुणों के, जो गिने नहीं जा सकते)
māhātmyamhis greatness — that is what is being shown nominative, subject of sūcyateमहात्म्य (महिमा, जो यहाँ सूचित होती है)
tasyaof him, this devotee genitiveउसका (जिसकी बात हो रही है)
sūcyateis indicated, is hinted at passive verbसूचित होता है (कर्मवाच्य में)
tasya — of him; asaṅkhyeyaiḥ guṇaiḥ — by his countless qualities; alam — enough (they suffice); māhātmyam — his greatness; sūcyate — is indicated.
His countless good qualities are enough on their own. By them his greatness is shown. The words say 'enough' — you need nothing more than these qualities to point to how great this person is.
Why cited: opens the Seventh-Canto verse adduced to define natural (naisargikī) rati by the example of one whose greatness his own qualities alone reveal

vāsudeve bhagavati yasya naisargikī ratiḥ ||
vāsudevetoward Vāsudeva locative, object of the loveवासुदेव में (जिनमें यह रति है)
bhagavatiwho is Bhagavān, the Lord locative, in apposition to vāsudeveभगवान् में (वासुदेव के ही विशेषण-रूप में)
yasyain whom — the person we are describing genitive, correlative picked up laterजिसकी (आगे सम्बन्धी पद से जुड़ता है)
naisargikīinborn, natural — not learned or worked up nominative feminine, describing ratiḥनैसर्गिक (स्वाभाविक, जन्मजात — रति का विशेषण)
ratiḥthere is love, attachment (rati) nominative, subjectरति (प्रेम, यहाँ कर्ता)
yasya — in whom; bhagavati vāsudeve — toward Bhagavān Vāsudeva; naisargikī ratiḥ — inborn love; [asti] — there is.
This is the person: one in whom there is love for Bhagavān Vāsudeva. And that love is naisargikī — inborn, natural. It is not something he learned or forced. It is simply his nature. Such a person's greatness is shown by his qualities alone.
Why cited: names the mark of the verse's exemplar — inborn rati for Vāsudeva — the very naisargikī rati the passage is cited to illustrate

nāradasya prasādena prahlāde śubha-vāsanā |
prasādenabecause of Nārada's grace, by his favor instrumental of causeकृपा के कारण (जिससे यह वासना जगी)
prahlādein Prahlāda — it arose in him locative, the site where it appearedप्रह्लाद में (जहाँ यह प्रकट हुई)
śubha-vāsanāthe pure disposition, the good inner tendency nominative, subject; compound kept wholeशुभ-वासना (उत्तम संस्कार, यहाँ कर्ता; समास ज्यों-का-त्यों)
nāradasya prasādena — by Nārada's grace; prahlāde — in Prahlāda; śubha-vāsanā — the pure inner tendency [arose].
Take Prahlāda as the case. By Nārada's grace, a pure inner tendency arose in him. Vāsanā is a settled disposition of the heart. Here it is śubha — pure, good. Nārada gave it; it appeared in Prahlāda.
Why cited: the second Seventh-Canto verse, cited to show that even 'inborn' rati was in fact planted by a saint's grace — the proof-text for how naisargikī is defined
L4definition
nisargaḥ saiva tenātra ratir naisargikī matā ||
nisargaḥone's very nature, one's inborn make-up nominative, predicateनिसर्ग (स्वभाव — यहाँ विधेय)
sā evathat very [disposition] — precisely that and nothing else eva restricts: exactly thatवही (eva से नियमित — ठीक वही शुभ वासना)
tenafor that reason, and so instrumental of cause, drawing the conclusionइसी कारण (जिससे निष्कर्ष निकलता है)
atrahere, in this contextयहाँ (इस प्रसंग में)
ratiḥthe love, the ratiरति
matāis understood to be, is taken as past participle, feminineमानी गई है (भूतकालिक कृदन्त, स्त्रीलिंग)
sā eva — that very pure disposition; nisargaḥ — [counts as] one's nature; tena — therefore; atra — here; ratiḥ — the love; naisargikī matā — is understood as 'natural'.
Now the point is drawn out. That very disposition Nārada planted becomes Prahlāda's nature. It is treated as inborn. So here rati is called naisargikī — 'natural' — not because no one gave it, but because it has settled in as his very nature. That is what 'natural rati' means in this book.
Why cited: the definition line the whole quotation was gathered for: it fixes the technical sense of naisargikī rati

aho — ah!; devarṣe — O divine sage; dhanyaḥ asi — you are blessed; yasya kṛpayā — by whose mercy; tat-kṣaṇāt — in that very moment.
Now a third case, and it is spoken as praise. 'Ah, Nārada! You are blessed, O sage of the gods. By your mercy, and in that very instant —' the sentence is left open here and finishes in the next line. The wonder is at how fast the mercy worked.
Why cited: opens the hunter (lubdhaka) verse, cited as the strongest case — grace producing rati instantly, even in the lowest person

nīco’py utpulako lebhe lubdhako ratim acyute ||
nīcaḥ apieven a lowborn, base man api = 'even', concessive; sandhi nīco'pyनीच होने पर भी (api = 'भी', अवरोध दिखाता है; सन्धि 'nīco'py')
utpulakaḥhis hair standing on end — thrilled with joy nominative, describing the hunterरोमांचित होकर (जिसके रोंगटे खड़े हो गए — व्याध का वर्णन)
lebheobtained, came to have perfect verbपा ली (परोक्ष भूतकाल)
ratimlove, rati accusative, object of lebheरति (कर्म, 'lebhe' का)
acyutefor Acyuta, the Lord who never falls locative, toward whom the love isअच्युत में (जिनके प्रति यह रति है)
nīcaḥ api lubdhakaḥ — even the lowborn hunter; utpulakaḥ — thrilled, hair on end; acyute — for Acyuta; ratim — love; lebhe — obtained.
Here is who received it: a hunter — and a lowborn one at that. 'Even' underlines it: the last person you would expect. Yet in that instant his hair stood on end with joy, and he gained real love for Acyuta, the Lord. That is what Nārada's mercy did, on the spot.
Why cited: completes the lubdhaka verse — even the lowest man gains instant rati by a saint's grace, the extreme case anchoring the definition

bhaktānāṁ bhedataḥ seyaṁ ratiḥ pañca-vidhā matā |
bhedataḥaccording to the differences among them, by their kinds ablative/adverbial: 'by way of difference'भेद के अनुसार (क्रियाविशेषण — 'अन्तर की दृष्टि से')
sā iyamthis same [rati] — the one just illustrated sā + iyam, pointing backयह वही (पीछे कही रति की ओर संकेत)
ratiḥrati, this love nominative, subjectरति (कर्ता)
pañca-vidhāis of five kinds, comes in five types predicate; compound kept wholeपाँच प्रकार की (विधेय; समास अखण्ड)
matāis held to be, is regarded as past participle, feminineमानी गई है (भूतकालिक कृदन्त, स्त्रीलिंग)
sā iyam ratiḥ — this same rati; bhaktānām bhedataḥ — according to the kinds of devotees; pañca-vidhā matā — is held to be fivefold.
Now Rūpa Gosvāmī sums up in his own words. This same rati — the love just shown in Prahlāda and the hunter — is held to come in five kinds. The five kinds follow from the different kinds of devotees who hold it. One rati, five varieties, sorted by the devotee.
Why cited: author's own summary: fixes that this rati is fivefold by the differences among devotees

The five kinds are for later. Rūpa Gosvāmī says he will sort them out one by one further on in the book. So he does not spell them out here. This line just closes the topic and defers the detail.
Why cited: author's own note deferring the fivefold analysis to a later section, closing the block
