nāma cintāmaṇiḥ kṛṣṇaś caitanya-rasa-vigrahaḥ |
nāmathe Name (of Kṛṣṇa) is — nom. subjectनाम (भगवान् का नाम, कर्ता)
cintāmaṇiḥa wish-fulfilling gem (it grants whatever you desire)चिन्तामणि है — मनचाहा फल देने वाली मणि

caitanya-rasa-vigrahaḥand is a form made of pure consciousness and of rasa (the taste of devotional love) bahuvrīhi/appositionalजिसका विग्रह चैतन्य और रस से बना है
nāma — the Name; cintāmaṇiḥ — is a wish-fulfilling gem; kṛṣṇaḥ — is Kṛṣṇa; caitanya-rasa-vigrahaḥ — is a form made of consciousness and rasa.
nāma — नाम; cintāmaṇiḥ — चिन्तामणि है; kṛṣṇaḥ — (और) कृष्ण है; caitanya-rasa-vigrahaḥ — जिसका स्वरूप चैतन्य और रस का बना हुआ है।
The Name is a wish-fulfilling gem. It grants everything you could want. The Name is Kṛṣṇa himself. It is a body made of pure consciousness and of rasa, the taste of devotional love.
नाम ही चिन्तामणि है। नाम ही स्वयं कृष्ण है। और वह ऐसा कृष्ण है जिसका विग्रह चेतना और रस से बना हुआ है।
Why cited: Scriptural proof that the Holy Name is a wish-granting gem and is Kṛṣṇa himself, made of consciousness and rasa.
क्यों उद्धृत: यह शास्त्र-प्रमाण है कि पवित्र नाम मनोवांछित फल देने वाली मणि है और स्वयं कृष्ण है, जो चैतन्य और रस से बना हुआ है।
cintāmaṇi: in the broader tradition, a mythic jewel that yields whatever its owner thinks of; here it says the Name gives every desired thing.
चिन्तामणि वह प्रसिद्ध मणि है जो अपने स्वामी के मन में जो भी आए वही दे देती है; यहाँ यह कहा जा रहा है कि नाम हर मनचाही वस्तु दे देता है।

pūrṇaḥ — complete; śuddhaḥ — pure; nitya-muktaḥ — eternally free; nāma-nāminoḥ — of the Name and the named; bhinnatvāt — because of (non-)difference.
pūrṇaḥ — (नाम) पूर्ण है; śuddhaḥ — शुद्ध है; nitya-muktaḥ — नित्य-मुक्त है; nāma-nāminoḥ — नाम और नामी के; bhinnatvāt — (अ)भिन्न होने के कारण।
The Name is complete, with nothing missing. It is pure, untouched by matter. It is eternally free, never bound. And the reason is this: there is no difference between the Name and the one it names, Kṛṣṇa. All three commentators read the word as a-bhinnatvāt, 'because of non-difference.'
नाम पूर्ण है, शुद्ध है, और नित्य-मुक्त है। यह इसलिए है कि नाम और नामी (कृष्ण) में भेद नहीं है। आचार्य यहाँ 'भिन्नता' को 'अभिन्नता' के रूप में पढ़ते हैं।
Why cited: Scriptural proof that the Name is complete, pure, and eternally free — because Name and named are not different.
क्यों उद्धृत: यह शास्त्र-प्रमाण है कि नाम पूर्ण, शुद्ध और नित्य-मुक्त है — क्योंकि नाम और नामी में भेद नहीं है।
bhinnatva means 'difference'; the commentators supply the privative a-, reading a-bhinnatvāt, 'because of NON-difference,' which is what makes the Name identical to Kṛṣṇa.

Jīva begins: the Name itself is the wish-fulfilling gem. That means it gives everything one desires. And why can it do that? Because the Name is Kṛṣṇa. It is Kṛṣṇa's own essential form. That is the meaning.
नाम ही चिन्तामणि है, क्योंकि वह समस्त मनचाही वस्तुएँ दे देता है। ऐसा इसलिए है कि वह नाम ही कृष्ण है। नाम कृष्ण का अपना स्वरूप है — यही तात्पर्य है।
svarūpa: literally 'own-form'; a thing's essential nature or identity, not a mere attribute — the Name IS what Kṛṣṇa is.
'स्वरूप' का शब्दार्थ है 'अपना रूप'; यह किसी वस्तु का असली स्वभाव या पहचान है, कोई ऊपरी गुण नहीं — नाम वही है जो कृष्ण हैं।

kṛṣṇasya viśeṣaṇāni — कृष्ण के विशेषण; caitanya iti ādīni — 'चैतन्य' आदि (शब्द) हैं।
Now Jīva sorts out the grammar. The words 'caitanya-rasa-vigraha,' and the ones after, are describing-words for Kṛṣṇa. They tell us what Kṛṣṇa — that is, the Name — is like.
'चैतन्य' आदि जो शब्द हैं, वे कृष्ण के विशेषण हैं। अर्थात् वे कृष्ण का ही वर्णन करते हैं।
viśeṣaṇa: 'the words that describe'; the adjectives (made of consciousness, made of rasa, complete, pure, eternally free) all attach to Kṛṣṇa, who has just been equated with the Name.

Why is the Name Kṛṣṇa? Jīva points to the verse's own word: abhinnatvāt — 'because of non-difference.' The Name and Kṛṣṇa are not two different things. That non-difference is the reason the Name can be called Kṛṣṇa.
उस नाम के कृष्ण होने का कारण यह है कि नाम और नामी अभिन्न हैं। इसी को मूल में 'अभिन्नता के कारण' कहा गया है।
Jīva reads the verse's bhinnatvāt as a-bhinnatvāt (non-difference); the difference is grammatically the negated form, and it is what carries the whole argument.
जीव गोस्वामी मूल के 'भिन्नत्वात्' को 'अ-भिन्नत्वात्' (अभेद) रूप में पढ़ते हैं; व्याकरण की दृष्टि से भेद केवल निषेधवाचक रूप का है, और वही सारे तर्क को धारण करता है।

Jīva draws it together. There is one Reality, and only one. Its nature is being, consciousness, bliss, rasa, and so on. This one Reality has shown itself in two ways — as the Name and as the one named. So there is no real difference between them; only one thing appearing twice.

sac-cid-ānanda: 'being-consciousness-bliss,' the standard threefold description of the Absolute; Jīva adds rasa-ādi ('rasa and the rest') to include the devotional flavor named in the verse.
'सत्-चित्-आनन्द' अर्थात् 'सत्ता-चेतना-आनन्द' — परम सत्य का प्रसिद्ध त्रिविध वर्णन; जीव गोस्वामी इसमें 'रस-आदि' ('रस आदि') जोड़ते हैं जिससे पद्य में कहा गया भक्ति-रस भी सम्मिलित हो जाए।
