āśriteti yathārcanādikam |
āśrita itias for the word āśrita[-avāntara-aneka-bheda] — the many-parted kind pratīka: he quotes the verse-word he is about to explain'आश्रित' — मूल का यह पद उद्धृत करके (जिसकी अब व्याख्या करते हैं)
yathā arcana-ādikamfor instance, deity-worship (arcana) and the like yathā gives the example of the categoryजैसे अर्चन आदि (कर्म — इस प्रकार का उदाहरण)
āśrita iti — [the verse's word] āśrita…; yathā arcana-ādikam — is exemplified by worship and so on
Jīva takes up the first term, āśrita — the limb with many parts inside. His example is arcana, deity-worship, and practices like it. Worship counts as one limb, yet it holds many procedures within it.
arcana — the formal worship of the deity; it is a single named limb of bhakti that in fact contains many sub-acts (offering seat, water, incense, lamp, food, etc.), which is exactly why it illustrates the 'many internal subdivisions' type.

kevalam atrāspaṣṭa-svagata-bhedaṁ, yathā guru-padāśrayo, yathā abhyutthānādi ca |
kevalamas for [the verse's word] kevalam — the single kindकेवल (का अर्थ)
atrahere — that is, in this verse it meansयहाँ (इस प्रकरण में)
aspaṣṭa-svagata-bhedaṁ[a limb] whose own internal divisions are not distinct, not clearly marked offजिसके भीतरी (स्वगत) भेद स्पष्ट नहीं हैं — ऐसा (अंग)
yathā guru-pada-āśrayaḥfor instance, taking shelter of the guru's feetजैसे गुरु के चरणों का आश्रय (लेना)
yathā abhyutthāna-ādifor instance, standing up to greet [a superior] and the likeजैसे अभ्युत्थान (सम्मान में उठ खड़े होना) आदि
caand — adding a second example alongside the firstऔर
kevalam atra — kevalam here [means]; aspaṣṭa-svagata-bhedaṁ — [a limb] with no clearly marked internal divisions; yathā guru-pada-āśrayaḥ — such as taking shelter of the guru's feet; yathā abhyutthāna-ādi ca — and such as rising to greet, and the like
Now Jīva glosses kevalam, the single kind. It means a limb whose inner parts are not distinct — you cannot cleanly break it into varieties. His examples are taking shelter of the guru's feet, and rising to one's feet to honor a superior. Each is one plain act, not a bundle of procedures.
svagata-bheda = 'internal / self-contained division'; aspaṣṭa = 'unclear, not distinct'. The point is not that these acts have zero parts, but that their parts are not clearly articulated the way worship's are — so they are treated as single.

atra bhaktau ||
atrathe word 'here' [atra in the verse]'अत्र' (यहाँ) — मूल का यह पद
bhaktaumeans: within devotion — the counting rule applies in the domain of bhaktiभक्ति में (सप्तमी — अर्थात् 'यहाँ' का तात्पर्य भक्ति के प्रसंग से है)
atra — the verse's 'here'; bhaktau — [means] 'in devotion'
Finally Jīva fixes the small word atra, 'here,' in the verse. It means 'in bhakti.' So the rule 'one action is one limb' holds specifically inside the field of devotion.
