And so too, Kuntī praises the Lord who came for the sake of the paramahaṁsas — the topmost renunciant sages, whose hearts are utterly spotless. This first line names them: silent, stainless, fully renounced souls. They are the very ones for whom, in the next line, he teaches bhakti-yoga.
उसी प्रकार, निर्मल हृदय वाले उन परमहंस मुनियों के हित के लिए —

You appear in order to teach bhakti-yoga [to those spotless sages]. So how, Kuntī asks, could we — mere women — ever hope to see you? The 'how' and the 'hi' together sound her sense of unworthiness: such a rare sight seems beyond women like her. The object 'you' is left unspoken; the commentators supply it.
भक्ति-योग के विधान के लिए (प्रकट हुए) आपको हम स्त्रियाँ भला कैसे देख सकती हैं?

The commentators do not take 'bhakti-yoga-vidhānārtham' as a stray adverb; they fold it into a description of Kṛṣṇa himself — 'you, whose whole purpose is to teach bhakti-yoga' — as their word-supply glosses (s3) will show.
टीकाकार 'भक्ति-योग-विधानार्थम्' को कोई स्वतन्त्र क्रियाविशेषण नहीं मानते; वे इसे स्वयं कृष्ण का ही विशेषण बना देते हैं — 'जिनका सारा प्रयोजन भक्ति-योग की शिक्षा देना है, वे आप' — जैसा उनका अध्याहार (स३ में) दिखाएगा।

Jīva recaps the point already made: those whose hearts are fully satisfied by serving Kṛṣṇa's lotus feet, who crave only the joy of that service, have no desire at all for liberation. That was the claim. Now, he says, the scriptural proofs for it are being unfolded — and this Kuntī verse is one of them.
इस प्रकार, जिनका चित्त श्रीकृष्ण के चरण-कमलों की सेवा में परितृप्त है और जो केवल उसी सेवा-सुख की ही चाह रखते हैं, ऐसे भक्तों में मोक्ष की चाह नहीं होती — यह जो (पहले) कहा गया, उस विषय में अब प्रमाण खोलकर दिखाए जाते हैं।
mokṣa (liberation from birth and death) is the crowning goal in most Indian systems; the striking point here is that these devotees precisely do not want it — service is sweeter to them than release.

Now Jīva gives the reason the verse is quoted: toward such devotees, the Lord's one endeavor is simply to give them the service of himself. To make that point he brings in this verse. He then locates it: the word 'prathame' (in the First Canto) marks the passage, and the verse that comes right after it — the one beginning 'tathā parama...' — is what he means. So the two-part pointer is 'prathame' plus the incipit 'tathā parama...'.
अब, ऐसे भक्तों के विषय में भगवान् का यत्न केवल अपनी सेवा प्रदान करने में ही रहता है — यह दिखाने के लिए (ग्रंथकार) 'प्रथमे' पद के अनन्तर 'तथा परम' इस पद के द्वारा (यह श्लोक) कहते हैं।

Jīva unpacks the grammar. He reads 'bhakti-yoga-vidhānārtham' not as a loose phrase but as a description of Kṛṣṇa: 'he whose purpose is the teaching of bhakti-yoga to the paramahaṁsas.' That description points to you — 'tvām,' you, O Kṛṣṇa. And that word 'you' is the missing object of 'could we see': how could we women see you, whose whole aim is to teach devotion to those pure sages?
परमहंसों के लिए भक्ति-योग का विधान ही जिसका प्रयोजन है, उस आपको — यहाँ 'त्वाम्' (आपको) यह पद जोड़कर वाक्य पूरा करना चाहिए।
iti śeṣaḥ ('this is the remainder') is the commentator's standard tag for an ellipsis — a word the verse leaves unspoken that must be added to finish the sentence; here the supplied word is tvām, 'you.'
'इति शेषः' ('यह शेष है') टीकाकार का अध्याहार बताने वाला नियत चिह्न है — वह पद जिसे श्लोक अनकहा छोड़ देता है और जिसे वाक्य पूरा करने के लिए जोड़ना पड़ता है; यहाँ जोड़ा गया पद 'त्वाम्' अर्थात् 'आपको' है।

Mukunda gives the same grammatical reading as Jīva, with one added clarification: the paramahaṁsas here are the jīva-muktas — those already liberated while still in the body. To even these, you, O Kṛṣṇa, come with the purpose of teaching bhakti-yoga. As before, 'you' (tvām) is the unspoken object to be supplied.
jīva-mukta (= jīvanmukta), 'liberated while living,' is a term from Advaita and Yoga for one freed even before death; Mukunda uses it to identify who the paramahaṁsas are — and the point stands out: Kṛṣṇa teaches devotion even to the already-liberated.

Viśvanātha gives the same setup as Jīva, with slightly different wording: now, toward such devotees, the Lord's intention is solely to grant them the service of himself. With that intent the verse is quoted. He then points to it — the passage beginning 'prathame...' (the First Canto), and right after it the verse that starts 'tathā parama...'. Where Jīva said 'effort' (prayatna), Viśvanātha says 'intention' (abhiprāya); the sense is the same.

Viśvanātha resolves the compound like the others, but tidies the grammar. He reads 'bhakti-yoga-vidhānam' as a plain nominative and glosses the word 'artha' with 'prayojana' — both meaning 'aim, purpose.' So: you, O Kṛṣṇa, are the one whose very aim is teaching bhakti-yoga to the paramahaṁsas. And 'you' (tvām) is again the unspoken word to be supplied as the object of 'could we see.' The 'eva' presses the point: teaching devotion is precisely his aim.
परमहंसों के लिए भक्ति-योग का विधान ही जिसका अर्थ अर्थात् प्रयोजन है, उस आपको — यहाँ 'त्वाम्' (आपको) यह पद जोड़कर वाक्य पूरा करना चाहिए।
Note the small grammatical difference: Jīva and Mukunda keep the compound 'bhakti-yoga-vidhānārtham' (with -artham inside it), while Viśvanātha splits off 'arthaḥ' as a separate word and explains it with 'prayojanam' — three ācāryas, the same devotional reading, reached by slightly different parsings.
यहाँ छोटा-सा व्याकरणगत भेद ध्यान दें — जीव और मुकुन्द 'भक्ति-योग-विधानार्थम्' समास को ('-अर्थम्' सहित) अखण्ड रखते हैं, जबकि विश्वनाथ 'अर्थः' को अलग पद बनाकर उसे 'प्रयोजनम्' से समझाते हैं — तीन आचार्य, वही भक्तिपरक अर्थ, किन्तु किंचित् भिन्न पदच्छेद से।
