This is the proof-verse. Kṛṣṇa has limbs that are beautiful to look at. And he is open-handed, generous — a word that runs on into the play, smiles and words named in the next line. It is by these that people are captured.
Why cited: Adduced as scriptural proof that devotion, awakened by direct experience of Kṛṣṇa's beauty, draws even the unwilling to him.

So that closes the explanation. The verse belongs here because it shows Kṛṣṇa is reached without hard labour — devotion does the pulling, even for the unwilling. On that ground, Jīva says, the verse has now been fully accounted for.
akleśa — 'without kleśa (toil, trouble).' The context (prakaraṇa) is that bhakti brings its result effortlessly; that is why Rūpa cites this verse just here.

Now Jīva offers a second reading, and leaves it standing beside the first. On this reading the word aṇvī ('subtle') is unpacked three ways: subtle, hard to fathom, and — the key gloss — 'marked by becoming a personal associate.' So the 'subtle goal' is not merging; it is the fine, hard-won status of joining Kṛṣṇa's own retinue. Jīva does not choose between the two readings.
pārṣada — a personal associate in the Lord's eternal entourage. The alternative reads gatim aṇvīm as attaining that associate-status, not an abstract 'subtle state.'

Why is that second reading admissible? Because the surrounding passage points to it. The context is about attaining Kṛṣṇa's personal association, so reading aṇvī as 'associate-status' is what the passage itself hands you.
prakaraṇa — the topical context of a passage; a standard interpretive ground: a word is taken in the sense the running topic requires.

Jīva now cites the very next verse (3.25.37) as backing. It says: my devotees do not even hanker after the Lord's own blessed opulence — and yet, being mine, they enjoy it in the supreme realm. He brings this in because the following verse confirms the point.
Why cited: Cited to confirm the reading: the devotee does not crave even the Lord's splendour, yet attains it — supporting that the 'subtle goal' comes unsought.

Viśvanātha sets up the verse. When the sweetness of seeing Kṛṣṇa — and hearing him, and the rest — is tasted with a thrill of wonder, a person naturally loses all taste for merging into brahman. Impersonal liberation turns flat by comparison. With this in mind, Kṛṣṇa speaks the 'taiḥ…' verse.

brahma-sāyujya — sāyujya is 'oneness/merging,' one of the classic forms of liberation; here it stands for the impersonal goal that the taste of Kṛṣṇa's sweetness renders unappealing.

Now Viśvanātha runs the whole verse through as a single sentence. 'Lovely limbs' means the utterly charming features of Śrī Kṛṣṇa, Rāma and the like. 'Generous' means givers of what one most longs for — that is, his playful pastimes, his smiles, his glances, his charming words, and so on. By all of these, devotion takes people who have no wish for the subtle goal — the fine, merging state of liberation — people whose minds and very life-breath his play and smiles have already stolen, and it brings them there anyway. Note that Viśvanātha reads anvīm gatim as the goal they do NOT want (liberation), unlike Jīva's alternate reading of it as Kṛṣṇa's associate-status.
Two readings of anvīm gatim now stand side by side across the commentaries: for Viśvanātha it is the unwanted subtle goal (impersonal liberation); for Jīva's second reading it is the prized 'associate-status' one is drawn into. Both are left standing.

Of the four aims of human life — dharma (right conduct), artha (wealth), kāma (pleasure) and mokṣa (liberation) — which one could possibly be hard for such a devotee to get? The implied answer: none. If even the unwanted goal of liberation is handed to them, the lesser three are nothing.
The four puruṣārthas (dharma, artha, kāma, mokṣa) are the standard 'aims of life.' The question is rhetorical: for one captured by Kṛṣṇa's sweetness, not one of the four is out of reach — least of all the liberation he doesn't even want.
