vaktraṁ — her face; kiñcid avāñcitaṁ — a little downcast; vivṛṇute — shows; na atiprasāda-udayaṁ — no dawning of great warmth.
Her face is held a little down. It shows no sign that real warmth toward Kṛṣṇa has yet dawned — the māna has not fully lifted.
An udāharaṇa illustrating saṅkīrṇa-sambhoga — union still streaked with the fading remnants of māna. Viśvanātha (below) places it in the opening stretch (ādi-bhāga) of sambhoga, where alone, with the middle, such mixing with the vipralambha-mood can occur, never in the final stretch.

O friend, even Rādhā's blurred, half-formed speech hints at a trace of resentment. Face, eyes, and now words — all three still carry the sulk.

mānantaṁ bruvatī tathāpi madhurā kṛṣṇaṁ dhinoty ākṛtiḥ ||
māna-antaṁ bruvatīeven while it announces that the māna is ending bruvatī (fem. participle) agrees with ākṛtiḥ; māna-antaṁ 'the end of māna' is its objectमान के अन्त को कहती हुई (आकृति से अन्वय, 'मान का अन्त' उसका कर्म)

Her whole form is announcing that the māna is on its way out. And yet, sweet as it is, that very form delights Kṛṣṇa. This is the point: even the fading sulk, mixed into the union, is what pleases him.

Viśvanātha sets up the verse. In union, a mixing with the separation-mood can only happen at the opening and the middle, never at the very end. The previous verse illustrated the middle stretch. Now, to illustrate the opening stretch too, Rūpa adds 'yathā vā' — 'or, as when…'.
