sakhi — O friend; mānasyopādhyāyi — O my teacher in māna; prasīda — relent; me śruti-dvandvam — my pair of ears; rundhi — block up.
Take pity, friend — you who taught me this proud sulking! Stop up my two ears.
An udāharaṇa (illustrative verse), brought in by the lead-in yathā vā. Per Viśvanātha it is Śrī Rādhā speaking to Lalitā with amarṣa (indignant impatience); it shows by its result (phalataḥ) the flute-sound's power to dissolve māna — a power he says the previous verse (pūrva-padya) asserted but did not demonstrate.

ayam siddhaḥ veṇuḥ — this flute, a very siddha; vane — out in the forest; uccāṭana-mantram — the uccāṭana spell; paṭhati — is chanting.
This flute is a perfected sorcerer. Out in the forest it is chanting an uccāṭana spell — the very charm that drags a person from home and shatters every resolve. That is why — stop my ears.
The verse's conceit: the flute is cast as a siddha (a master-adept) and its song as an uccāṭana-mantra — the spell one uses to evict a person and undo their firmness. The gopī's whole fear turns on that image: the flute-song will 'evict' her māna and pull her out to Kṛṣṇa, so she begs to have her ears sealed before it can work.

In the previous verse the flute-sound was said to quiet māna — but its result was never actually shown. Dissatisfied with the bare statement, the author gives this fresh illustration, opening with 'yathā vā.'

sāmarṣam marks amarṣa, indignant impatience (a sañcāri-bhāva); it colors the whole plea — she is nettled that the flute is about to overpower the very māna her friend trained her to keep.
