Look — these bees are reeling about in a daze, and they are not sipping the flower-honey at all. Even right at the blossoms, they are too overcome to drink.
An udāharaṇa (illustrative verse) of vitarka, the transient emotion of reasoning or conjecture. Here Rādhā, searching the forest for the hidden Kṛṣṇa, reads the dazed animals as signs and infers which way he went (Vidagdha-mādhava 6.29, in Rādhā's own voice).

This parrot too has gone dull and stiff; it will not even take up the pomegranate. A second creature struck motionless.

And this doe has gone pale, and she will not nibble the green leaf-tip either. The near-rhyme haritaṁ / hariṇī — 'green' against 'doe' — rings in the ear as she speaks.

So the Lord — he who moves like a lordly elephant — must surely have passed along this very path. That is her conclusion: the three dazed creatures are proof of the road Kṛṣṇa took. The whole verse is one act of vitarka — inference from signs.

Jīva names the logic at work. Her reasoning is a real inference: it catches a rule of invariable connection — 'creatures freeze like this only where Kṛṣṇa has just gone by' — and applies it. And that rule she already holds, from having watched the same thing happen again and again.
vyāpti — a Nyāya (logic) term: the invariable concomitance ('wherever there is smoke, there is fire') that licenses an inference. Here the concomitance is 'wherever animals are struck dumb with wonder, Kṛṣṇa has passed.'

vitarkaḥ — vitarka; hetu-parāmarśa-ādi-janyaḥ — produced by weighing a reason and so on; atyūhaḥ — is heightened conjecture.
Viśvanātha gives the definition. Vitarka is intense conjecture — the mind guessing hard — set off by weighing some reason or ground before it.
hetu-parāmarśa — a Nyāya term: the moment in inference when the mind 'considers' the probans as present in the subject and pervaded by the conclusion. ūha is surmise or reasoning-out; ati- intensifies it, hence atyūha, conjecture at full stretch.

The lead-in said vitarka comes 'from vimarśa.' Viśvanātha reads vimarśa as the same weighing-of-a-reason (hetu-parāmarśa) he just named — deliberation, not idle doubt.

Viśvanātha sets the scene. Kṛṣṇa has slipped into the forest to hide himself. Rādhā, hunting for him, reasons her way toward where he has gone — and that reasoning is what she voices in this verse.

Viśvanātha gives the same analysis as Jīva, in his own words: her reasoning is an inference — it seizes the invariable rule and applies it — and the rule itself she owns from having seen it hold true time after time.
