svedaiḥ — with her sweat-drops; darśita-durdinā — she made it seem an overcast, rainy day; bāṣpāmbubhiḥ — with her tear-waters; vatsīḥ (L2) nistṛṣaḥ vidadhatī — making the calves free of thirst.
Her sweat poured so freely it turned the day overcast, as if it were raining. Her tears flowed so hard that the calves drank them and lost their thirst. Two of the involuntary love-signs — sweat and tears — shown by hyperbole.
An udāharaṇa (illustrative verse) of sūddīpta sāttvika-bhāva — the involuntary bodily signs of love blazing at their highest pitch, all at once. Spoken to Kṛṣṇa (addressed as Mādhava in L4) about Rādhā. It closes the Sāttvika chapter (prakaraṇa 12). This line shows sweat (sveda) and tears (aśru); horripilation follows in L2, and pallor, stillness, broken voice, and fainting are folded into L3–L4.

Hearing your flute, this Rādhā changed so completely that she is now actually being worshipped — because she stood frozen and pale as a stone image. And catch the pun: her very name Rādhā (from √rādh, 'to propitiate, to worship') is echoed in ārādhyate, 'she is worshipped.'
The śleṣa (pun) the verse turns on: rādhā and ā-rādhyate share the root √rādh. Her name is 'she who worships/propitiates'; the transformation of love has turned her into one who is herself worshipped.

Naive students, O Mādhava, mistake her for a marble image of Sarasvatī (Bhāratī, goddess of speech and learning) — because she stands frozen and pale — and today they worship her for their studies. That is the 'worship': the highest pitch of the love-signs has made her look like a stone goddess.
Bhāratī = Sarasvatī, goddess of speech and learning; that is why it is students (vidyārthī) who bow to the 'image' — one worships Sarasvatī for success in study. Her stillness (stambha) and pallor (vaivarṇya), two more sāttvika signs, are what make the statue-likeness convincing.

khedair iti ādy-uktiḥ — the verse beginning 'khedaiḥ'; udātta-alaṅkāra-mayī — is composed in the udātta (lofty) ornament; uddīptatā-mātra-tātparyā — its whole purport is nothing but uddīptatā (the blazing intensity).
Jīva: the verse beginning 'khedaiḥ…' is built on the udātta ornament — the poetic figure of grandeur and loftiness. Its single purpose is to display uddīptatā: the involuntary love-signs flaring at their highest pitch, all together.
udātta is an arthālaṅkāra of Sanskrit poetics — a description of exalted grandeur or richness. uddīpta / sūddīpta names the intensity-grade of the sāttvika-bhāvas: this closing verse illustrates that top grade, where the signs blaze at once. Jīva's pratīka 'khedaiḥ' is a recension variant of the mūla's 'svedaiḥ'.

Now Viśvanātha reads the verse as an utprekṣā, a poetic fancy: he imagines her — a heroine whose lover is away — as a vāsaka-sajjā, a woman bathed, adorned, and waiting, ready for union.
Two nāyikā types are in play. A proṣita-bhartṛkā is the heroine whose beloved has left on a journey; a vāsaka-sajjā is the heroine dressed and waiting for an imminent tryst. The utprekṣā turns the pining one into the expectant one — and each sāttvika sign then gets re-read as part of her tryst-adornment.

Here the śleṣa runs on two levels at once. Reading one (the tryst-adornment): her sweat-drops are her pearl-necklace, and a smear of sandal-paste gives her a pale, glowing complexion. Reading two (the real state): that same paleness, brought on by separation from you, is not sandal but vaivarṇya — the involuntary draining of color. The pun rides on śrī-khaṇḍa: sandal-white as cosmetic, sandal-pale as grief.
The śleṣa foregrounds two sāttvika signs disguised as ornaments: sveda (sweat) as a pearl-necklace, and vaivarṇya (pallor) as a sandal-paste glow. 'pakṣe' does not cancel the first reading — a śleṣa holds both senses together; it names the layer where the adornment is seen through to the love-sign beneath.
