rādhe — हे राधे; aparādhena vinā — बिना अपराध के; eva — ही; kasmāt — किस कारण से।
O Rādhā, why — when we have done nothing wrong at all — do you speak so? The question opens here and finishes in the next line.
हे राधे! बिना किसी अपराध के ही, किस कारण से —
An udāharaṇa of aśru (tears) born of roṣa (anger), the sāttvika-bhāva under discussion in prakaraṇa 12; the verse is from Bilvamaṅgala, spoken by Kṛṣṇa to the angered Rādhā.
यह रोष से उत्पन्न अश्रु का उदाहरण है — प्रकरण 12 में विचारणीय सात्त्विक-भाव। यह श्लोक बिल्वमंगल का है, जिसे कृष्ण क्रुद्ध राधा से कहते हैं।

asmāsu vācaḥ paruṣā ruṣā te |
asmāsuagainst us locative — the target the harsh words fall upon; Kṛṣṇa speaks of himself in the pluralहम पर (जिन पर कठोर वचन पड़ते हैं; कृष्ण अपने लिए बहुवचन का प्रयोग करते हैं)
vācaḥyour words nominative plural — the subjectवचन (कर्ता, बहुवचन)
paruṣāḥare harsh predicate adjective agreeing with vācaḥकठोर (वचनों का विशेषण)
ruṣāout of anger instrumental of cause — 'because of anger'क्रोध के कारण
teyour genitive, with vācaḥतेरे (वचनों का सम्बन्ध)
kasmāt (L1) — why; te vācaḥ — your words; asmāsu — against us; ruṣā — out of anger; paruṣāḥ — harsh?
asmāsu — हम पर; vācaḥ — वचन; paruṣāḥ — कठोर; ruṣā — क्रोध के कारण; te — तेरे।
Why, out of anger, are your words so harsh against us? He is placating a Rādhā who has turned on him in a jealous fury — the anger that will spill over into tears.
तेरे कठोर वचन क्रोध के कारण हम पर पड़ते हैं।

aho kathaṁ te kucayoḥ prathante
ahoah! — an exclamation of wonderअहो!
kathamhow is it that…? interrogative of wonder, not of causeकैसे (आश्चर्य का प्रश्न, कारण का नहीं)
teyour genitive, with kucayoḥतेरे (स्तनों का सम्बन्ध)
kucayoḥacross your two breasts locative dual — where they spreadदोनों स्तनों पर (जहाँ वे फैलती हैं)
prathantespread out, stream across 3rd pl. present; its subject is the tear-streams of L4फैलती हैं (कर्ता L4 की अश्रुधाराएँ)

aho — अहो; katham — कैसे; te — तेरे; kucayoḥ — दोनों स्तनों पर; prathante — फैलती हैं।
And ah — how is it that across your breasts there spread… He breaks off in wonder; what spreads is named in the last line.
अहो! तेरे दोनों स्तनों पर ये कैसे फैलती हैं —
The sāttvika-bhāva itself surfaces here: her anger has broken into tears, which he now sees streaming down.
यहाँ सात्त्विक-भाव स्वयं प्रकट होता है — उसका क्रोध अश्रुओं में फूट पड़ा है, जिन्हें अब वह बहते हुए देखते हैं।
L4example
hārānukārās taralāśru-dhārāḥ ||
hārānukārāḥmimicking pearl necklaces bahuvrīhi describing the streams — 'having the imitation of hāras'हारों का अनुकरण करती हुई (बहुव्रीहि — जिनमें हारों की समानता है)
taralāśru-dhārāḥstreams of quivering tears — the subject that 'spreads' (L3) tarala = tremulous; but tarala also names the central pendant-gem of a necklace, so the word half-turns the tears into that jewelचंचल अश्रुओं की धाराएँ; परन्तु 'तरल' हार के मध्य में लटकने वाले मणि का भी नाम है, अतः यह शब्द अश्रुओं को आधा उस मणि में बदल देता है
taralāśru-dhārāḥ — streams of quivering tears; hārānukārāḥ — mimicking pearl necklaces; prathante (L3) — spread across your breasts.
hārānukārāḥ — हारों का अनुकरण करती हुई; taralāśru-dhārāḥ — चंचल अश्रुधाराएँ (अथवा तरल-मणि-सी अश्रुधाराएँ)।
…streams of quivering tears that mimic pearl necklaces. Read the śleṣa aloud: the tears trembling down onto her breasts look like the strands of a pearl hāra — and tarala, 'quivering,' is also the name for the large central gem of such a necklace, so the very word makes the tear into the jewel. The image is the point: her roṣa-born weeping is turned into an ornament.
हारों का अनुकरण करती हुई चंचल अश्रुओं की धाराएँ। ('तरल' शब्द हार के बीच झूलते मणि का भी नाम है, इसलिए अश्रुधाराएँ मानो वही मणि बन जाती हैं।)

yathā vetithe words 'yathā vā' ('or, for instance') pratīka quoting the lead-in that brings in the Bilvamaṅgala verse'यथा वा' यह — (बिल्वमंगल-श्लोक का उपक्रम करने वाला प्रतीक)
śrī-rādhāyām — to illustrate it in Rādhā's case; udāhartum — in order to give the example; āha — Rūpa says; yathā vā iti — 'yathā vā.'
śrī-rādhāyām — श्रीराधा के विषय में; udāhartum — उदाहरण देने के लिए; āha — कहते हैं; yathā veti — 'यथा वा' यह।
To give an example with Śrī Rādhā as the one who weeps, Rūpa says 'yathā vā' — 'or, for instance.' Visvanatha reads this pratīka as ushering in the Bilvamaṅgala verse just quoted.
श्रीराधा के विषय में उदाहरण देने के लिए 'यथा वा' कहते हैं।

śrī-kṛṣṇaḥ khaṇḍitāṁ śrī-rādhām āha—prātar iti ||
śrī-kṛṣṇaḥŚrī Kṛṣṇa nominative — the speaker of the verse being namedश्रीकृष्ण (श्लोक के वक्ता का नाम)
khaṇḍitāṁ śrī-rādhāmthe offended Śrī Rādhā accusative — the one addressed; khaṇḍitā is a nāyikā-typeखण्डिता श्रीराधा से (जिन्हें सम्बोधित किया गया; खण्डिता एक नायिका-भेद है)
āhaaddresses, speaks toकहते हैं
prātar itithe words 'prātaḥ…' pratīka naming that verse by its opening word'प्रातः' यह — (उस श्लोक को उसके आदि-शब्द से नामित करता प्रतीक)
śrī-kṛṣṇaḥ — Śrī Kṛṣṇa; khaṇḍitāṁ śrī-rādhām — the offended Rādhā; āha — addresses; prātar iti — 'prātaḥ…'
śrī-kṛṣṇaḥ — श्रीकृष्ण; khaṇḍitāṁ śrī-rādhām — खण्डिता श्रीराधा से; āha — कहते हैं; prātar iti — 'प्रातः' यह।
Kṛṣṇa addresses the offended Rādhā, the khaṇḍitā, with the verse that begins 'prātaḥ.' Visvanatha names it by its opening word only.
श्रीकृष्ण खण्डिता श्रीराधा से 'प्रातः...' श्लोक कहते हैं।
khaṇḍitā: a nāyikā-type — the heroine wronged, who at dawn finds her lover come to her bearing the signs of a night spent with a rival; Kṛṣṇa arrives to pacify her. The pratīka 'prātaḥ' ('at dawn') names a companion example verse, distinct from the Bilvamaṅgala 'rādhe' verse introduced in s1; the two are not harmonized here.
