She calls him right out. 'You there, with your body tucked out of sight — why are you skulking around for nothing, you cheat? Get lost!'
Quoted from Padyāvalī 280 as the example of atiprauḍhokti — 'extremely bold speech,' the brazenly sarcastic taunt of a jealous heroine. The verse's first two lines stand in the lead-in; these are lines three and four.

'Playing your tricks on the cowherd girls — that clever little art is your specialty, isn't it!' Pure sarcasm.

kākuṁ karoṣi iti — the phrase 'you make a plaintive cry'; saṅketī-kṛta-kokila-ādi-vat jñeyam — is to be understood as like a cuckoo-call and such made into a coded signal.
Jīva reads the 'plaintive cry' as a coded call. The way lovers fix on a cuckoo's note as their secret tryst-signal, Kṛṣṇa's cry here is that same kind of prearranged sign.
kāku is a dramaturgical term — a catch or tremor in the voice driven by feeling; here a coaxing, plaintive call.

Here is the scene Viśvanātha sets. Kṛṣṇa, driven by longing and without any invitation, has slipped into Śyāmalā's house and is crouching there hidden. She catches sight of her lover like that. Inside she is thrilled — but she is in a teasing mood, so she puts on a show of anger and threatens him: 'I'm going to tell the old matron all about this behavior of yours!' With that threat she speaks the verse that opens with 'kāku.'

Now he decodes the first line. Kṛṣṇa has ducked behind the pile of dried dung-cakes stacked in the corner for the cooking-fire, hiding his whole body. And from back there — she taunts — why the pitiful act now? Fingers stuck in your mouth, whimpering 'oh, oh, just order me around, poor old thing that I am!' That whimper is the 'plaintive cry' the verse names.
karīṣa = dried cow-dung cakes, the ordinary cooking fuel, stacked in the kitchen corner. The exact words of the cry are the heroine's own mocking mimicry of his pleading.
