The abhinayas, the modes of acting, follow one of two things: either worldly practice, which is their root, or the theatrical convention that depends on that practice. Because of this, dharmī, the 'mode', is treated right after them — lokadharmī matching the worldly, nāṭyadharmī matching the conventional.

'Ātodya' means 'that which is struck, sounded'. And 'pauṣkara' is named from the word 'puṣkara': the drum is presided over by the deity Puṣkaravartaka, is shaped like a lotus-leaf, and is faced with a leather covering — hence 'pauṣkara'.

'Entry', 'transition', 'exit', 'interlude' — these four really name occasions, not songs. They get called '-gāna' only by a figure of speech: the song takes the name of the occasion it accompanies. The fifth, prāsādika, works differently — it is named from its purpose, prasāda, gracious pleasing; so it is the pleasing-song.

The dhruvā is a fixed set of words that underlies the sung melody. When the verse calls gāna 'dhruvā-yoga-samanvita', 'samanvita' means the song is joined to that dhruvā by connection. And because the song's form is fixed by the predominance of the word-meaning, this quietly marks gāna off from gāndharva: in gāna the fixed words and their meaning govern, not melody and rhythm on their own.

The theatre hall (maṇḍapa) helps the whole performance. By marking the stage off into zones (kakṣyā) and by aiding the actors' movement, it supports every kind of acting and every anubhāva; and it supports the singing and the instruments too. Two earlier verses of the Nāṭyaśāstra are quoted to back this up.
Why cited: The first (NŚ 2.20, on the feeling carried on the actor's face reaching the audience) is adduced to show the hall aids abhinaya and anubhāva; the second (NŚ 2.82, on the orchestra gaining depth of tone) to show it aids song and instruments.

And simply by naming the raṅga, the stage, the verse already takes in the division of the stage into zones (kakṣyā-vibhāga). So the kakṣyā is not left untaught — it comes in under the stage.
The text carries a variant here, anuddiṣṭatvaṁ / anudṛṣṭatvaṁ; either reading gives the sense 'not left unstated'.
