ebhiḥ ... mihira-ātapaiḥbecause of these blazing rays of the sun instrumental of cause; mihira = the sun, ātapa = its scorching heat; ebhiḥ and mihira-ātapaiḥ wrap around the lineइन सूर्य की तपती धूप-किरणों के कारण — मिहिर अर्थात् सूर्य, आतप अर्थात् उसका प्रचण्ड ताप
ebhiḥ tvad-aṅga-saṅgataiḥ mihira-ātapaiḥ — because of these sun-rays that first touched your limbs; taptaḥ asmi — I am scorched.
By these blazing sun-rays — the very ones that first touched your body — I am scorched.
An udāharaṇa of kṣobha, 'agitation,' the sandhy-aṅga defined in the previous kārikā (176): 'when the cause is directed to one thing, the effect is imagined in another' (anya-gate hetau anyasmin kārya-kalpanam). Here the sun-rays' contact is with her limbs — the cause lodged in her — yet Kṛṣṇa claims to burn from those very rays, the effect imagined in himself. That displacement of effect from its real ground is the kṣobha. Quoted from the seventh act (7.37, from Rūpa's own Lalita-Mādhava), in Kṛṣṇa's voice.

candana-cchāyāṁthe cool shade of sandalwood — the classic coolant for love's fever the treatise here prints vandana-; the verse's own reading is candana-, which sets up the sun-scorch versus sandal-cool oppositionचन्दन की शीतल छाया को — ग्रन्थ में यहाँ वन्दन- छपा है, पर श्लोक का अपना पाठ चन्दन- है, जो सूर्य के ताप और चन्दन की शीतलता का विरोध खड़ा करता है

deviO lady, O goddess (vocative)हे देवि
śiśirīkurumake cool, soothe to coolness denominative imperative, śiśira = cool — the plea the verse builds toशीतल कर दे — शिशिर अर्थात् ठण्डा; यही वह प्रार्थना है जिस पर श्लोक पहुँचता है
devi — O lady; candana-cchāyāṁ vindantī — becoming for me the cool shade of sandalwood; māṁ śiśirīkuru — make me cool.
O lady, become my sandal-cool shade and soothe me to coolness.
candana (sandal, the coolant against love's fever) chimes with candra, 'moon,' in Candrāvalī's own name — the very lady he addresses is herself the coolness he begs for. The sun (mihira) scorches, the sandal-moon cools; the plea turns on that opposition, which is exactly why the misplaced 'burning' of L1 counts as kṣobha.

I am scorched, O lady, by these blazing rays of the sun — the very rays that first lay against your own limbs; so become for me the cool shade of sandalwood, and soothe me to coolness.
