L1definition
ojas tu vāg-upanyāso nija-śakti-prakāśakaḥ ||
ojaḥojaḥ, the inter-juncture element (sandhy-antara) now being defined nom.; the term defined (viśeṣya)ओज नामक सन्ध्यन्तर — जिसका यहाँ लक्षण किया जा रहा है
tunow — turning from the preceding gotra-skhalita to the next itemऔर अब (पूर्व कहे गये अंगों से अलग इसे बताते हुए)
vāg-upanyāsaḥis a declaration made in speech — a putting-forward in words predicate nom.; vāk 'speech' + upanyāsa 'a putting-forward, statement'वैसा वचन-प्रस्ताव है, अर्थात् ऐसा कथन जो वाणी में रखा जाय
nija-śakti-prakāśakaḥone that displays one's own power qualifies vāg-upanyāsa; nija 'own' + śakti 'power' + prakāśaka 'revealing'जो अपने ही सामर्थ्य को प्रकट करता है
ojaḥ tu — and now ojaḥ; nija-śakti-prakāśakaḥ — that reveals one's own power; vāg-upanyāsaḥ — is [such] a spoken declaration.
Now the treatise turns to ojaḥ. Ojaḥ is a speech in which a character openly proclaims his own power. It is a bold verbal declaration that puts one's own strength on display.
ojaḥ is one of the sandhy-antaras, the inter-juncture elements catalogued in this seventh vibhāga (vv 126–140). Its illustration follows in the next unit's lead-in: Garuḍa's boast in the fifth act, where the text remarks 'because Garuḍa displays his own power, this is ojaḥ' (atra garuḍena sva-śakti-prakāśanād ojaḥ).
ojaḥ tu nija-śakti-prakāśakaḥ vāg-upanyāsaḥ [asti]
ojaḥ tu nija-śakti-prakāśakaḥ vāg-upanyāsaḥ (bhavati)।
Ojaḥ, on the other hand, is a spoken declaration that puts one's own power on display — a bold pronouncement in which a character openly proclaims his own strength.
The lakṣaṇa of ojaḥ, one of the sandhy-antaras (inter-juncture elements) catalogued in this seventh vibhāga: it defines ojaḥ as a verbal self-proclamation of one's own power, the 'tu' marking the turn from the preceding element to this one.
