A Sanskrit play moves through five sandhis, its five junctures. The word eva pins that number at exactly five. Those five together have sixty-four aṅgas, their sub-limbs, in all. And here, in this work, all sixty-four have been laid out in order, one by one.
The five sandhis (the junctures of a Sanskrit play, from Bharata's Nāṭyaśāstra, which the Nāṭaka-candrikā adapts to Vaiṣṇava drama): mukha (the opening), pratimukha (the progression), garbha (the development), vimarśa/avamarśa (the pause or crisis), and nirvahaṇa (the conclusion). Their sub-limbs, the sandhy-aṅgas, come to sixty-four across the five.

These aṅgas I have now described in full — properly, with none skipped. The illustrating verses were all drawn from the Lalita-Mādhava, Rūpa's own play. With that, the treatment of the five sandhis and their sixty-four sub-limbs closes here.

Here in this work the sixty-four sub-limbs (aṅgas) belonging to just the five junctures (sandhis) of a play have been fully set forth by me, one by one in due order, with their illustrations all drawn from my own play, the Lalita-Mādhava.
Rūpa's closing kārikā of the section: he declares the treatment complete — all sixty-four sandhy-aṅgas of the five sandhis expounded in order, illustrated from his Lalita-Mādhava.
