khelan-mañjula-veṇu-maṇḍita-mukhī sāci-bhramaṁl locanā
khelan-mañjula-veṇu-maṇḍita-mukhīwhose face is adorned by a lovely flute at play on the lips bahuvrīhi, nom. sg. fem., agreeing with devatā (L4); khelat 'playing, dancing' + mañjula 'lovely' + veṇu 'flute' + maṇḍita-mukhī 'face-adorned'जिसका मुख क्रीड़ा करती हुई मनोहर वेणु से सुशोभित है
sāci-bhramaṁl locanāwhose eyes rove in sidelong glances bahuvrīhi; sāci 'obliquely' + bhramat 'roving' + locanā 'eyes'; sandhi sāci-bhramat + locanā → sāci-bhramaṁl locanāजिसके नेत्र तिरछे घूमते रहते हैं
khelan-mañjula-veṇu-maṇḍita-mukhī — whose face is adorned by a lovely flute at play on the lips; sāci-bhramat-locanā — whose eyes rove in sidelong glances.
Rādhā describes a 'deity' feature by feature. Its face is graced by a lovely flute set playing at the lips; its eyes dart about in oblique, sidelong glances. Hold onto these marks — the flute at the mouth and the roving glance are already Kṛṣṇa's own.
An udāharaṇa (illustrative verse) of prasaṅga, the sandhy-aṅga defined in kārikā 98 (v084) as prastutārthasya śamanam — 'the pacifying of the matter at hand.' This is the second illustration: the lead-in reads dvitīyaṁ yathā saptame ('the second, as in the seventh act'), and analyses it atra prastutasya viraha-duḥkhasya śamāt prasaṅgaḥ — 'here prasaṅga arises because the current sorrow of separation is soothed.' Spoken by Rādhā in Sanskrit, quoted from the seventh act (7.24) of the same play cited before. Across the verse Rādhā describes Kṛṣṇa under the guise of a 'family deity' she is commanded to worship — every mark named is his own — and by dwelling on him under that pretext she quiets her own separation-grief; that soothing is the prasaṅga.

O innocent one! — Rādhā turns for a moment to the friend she is confiding in. On its head, she goes on, the deity wears a peacock-plume; it has taken on a body bent in the triple curve, the tribhaṅga pose. The peacock-feather and the three-fold bend are, again, Kṛṣṇa's own marks.

—worshipped by us, she finishes, in my father's own house; and its complexion is dark as a raincloud. So runs Rādhā's account of the 'family deity.' Set the marks side by side — the flute at the lips, the peacock-plume, the triple-bent stance, the cloud-dark hue — and they are Kṛṣṇa's own, one and all. Under the cover of a deity she has been 'ordered' to worship, Rādhā can gaze on Kṛṣṇa and speak of him freely, and so soothe the very sorrow of separation that is troubling her now. That soothing of the matter at hand is the prasaṅga this verse illustrates.
