L1definition
...dravo guru-tiriskriyā ||
dravaḥthe limb now named — the sandhy-aṅga called drava subject nominative; the term being defined (sandhi'd to dravo before guru-)'द्रव' नामक (सन्धि-अंग), जिसका यहाँ लक्षण कहा जा रहा है
guru-tiraskriyāis the slighting of an elder — showing disrespect, even open insult, to a guru or superior predicate nominative (copula elided); tatpuruṣa, guru = the one disrespected; text reads tiriskriyā for tiraskriyāगुरुजन का तिरस्कार (है) — अर्थात् किसी बड़े या पूज्य का अपमान करना
dravaḥ — the limb called drava; guru-tiraskriyā — [is] the slighting of an elder.
Now he names the next limb, drava. Drava is guru-tiraskriyā — disrespect, even insult, shown to an elder or superior. So when a character in the play slights or overrides a guru-figure, that moment is the drava-aṅga at work.
drava is one of the sandhy-aṅgas (the component limbs of the dramatic junctures), belonging to the vimarśa-sandhi (the juncture of deliberation) treated across this run of kārikās — avavāda, sampheṭa, vidrava, drava, dyuti, śakti. This line gives only its lakṣaṇa (defining mark): the slighting of an elder. It stands at the tail of the same kārikā whose head defined vidrava (killing, binding, and the like), quoted just before in the lead-in; hence the opening ellipsis. The treatise's own illustration of drava follows in the next unit — the mistress Rādhā's mockery of a superior.
dravaḥ guru-tiraskriyā [asti]
Drava is the slighting of an elder — the moment when a character shows disrespect, even open insult, to a guru or superior.
Defines the sandhy-aṅga drava as guru-tiraskriyā, the slighting of an elder; it closes the vimarśa-sandhi kārikā whose first half (quoted in the lead-in) defined vidrava, and its own illustration — Rādhā's mockery of a superior — follows in the next unit.
