nanot — the denial that governs the whole lineनहीं — यह मेरा प्रियतम है, इस पहचान का निषेध
kānto'yaṁ'this one here is my beloved' — the very claim she is refusing kāntaḥ (nom. predicate) + ayaṁ (this one, the dark figure seen far off); the na negates the identificationयह (दूर दीखती श्याम आकृति) मेरा कान्त (प्रियतम) है — 'न' इसी पहचान को नकारता है
śaṅkeor so I suspect, I would rather think — the verb of surmise that voices her doubt 1st sg.; it frames the whole re-reading that follows as a wilful guessमैं यों शंका (अनुमान) करती हूँ — आगे का सारा पुनर्वर्णन इसी जानबूझकर की गई अटकल के रूप में
surapati-dhanur-dhāma-madhurassweet with the glow of Indra's bow, the rainbow — already describing the cloud named in L2 surapati = lord of the gods, Indra; dhanuḥ = his bow = the rainbow; dhāma = radiance; nom. bahuvrīhi agreeing with jaladharaḥसुरपति (देवराज इन्द्र) के धनुष अर्थात् इन्द्रधनुष की आभा से मधुर — जलधर के साथ अन्वित बहुव्रीहि
na kānto'yaṁ — this is not my beloved; śaṅke — I suspect; surapati-dhanur-dhāma-madhuras — [it is only something] sweet with the glow of the rainbow
She is gazing at the dark figure far away. 'That is not my beloved,' she says — or makes herself believe. What she sees, she declares, is only something lovely with the soft glow of a rainbow.
An udāharaṇa of puṣpa — 'the statement that is a pariśeṣa, a special crowning distinction, is called puṣpa,' the sandhy-aṅga (a component limb of the dramatic junctures) defined in the preceding kārikā 74 (nc.6.45). The commentary marks it so at the close: 'here, from perceiving him in the special way as a rain-cloud (jaladharatayā viśeṣa-jñānāt), it is puṣpa.' Rādhā, jealous and grieving to see Kṛṣṇa embraced by fair-limbed women in the town far off (the verse's first half), refuses to own him and recasts the dark figure as a mere rain-cloud on a hill: his dark body becomes the cloud, his peacock-crest and coloured splendour become the rainbow's glow, the golden women clinging to him become the streak of golden lightning. That heightened, ornamental re-seeing is the puṣpa, the 'flower' of her speech.

It is a rain-cloud, she says, wearing a thread of lightning, that has draped itself along the mountain. So she denies it is Kṛṣṇa at all — nothing but a cloud clinging to the hill. This substituted, heightened perception is the puṣpa the kārikā has just named.

An udāharaṇa of puṣpa, the sandhy-aṅga defined in the preceding kārikā (nc.6.45): a heightened, crowning re-perception. Quoted from the Rādhikā play (3.40), where jealous Rādhā refuses to own the distant dark figure of Kṛṣṇa and recasts him as a mere rain-cloud on a hill — his body the cloud, his peacock-crest and splendour the rainbow's glow, the golden women clinging to him the streak of lightning.
