This is an udāharaṇa of prayogātiśaya, the stage device defined in the immediately preceding kārikā 25 (nc.4.20): where a character's entrance or presence is flagged by a deictic 'eṣo'yam iti' ('here he is, this is the one') carried in the performance. The verse is quoted from Lalita-Mādhava 4.16, spoken in the garbhāṅka (the play-within-the-play); the pointing word that does the work — eṣa mādhavaḥ, 'this Mādhava' — comes in L2.

Yet this Mādhava, with nothing to stop him, always delights her fully. The point for dramaturgy is the little word eṣa — 'this one here'. Spoken in the performance, it points Mādhava out to the audience, flagging his presence. That deictic pointing is exactly the prayogātiśaya defined in the previous kārikā: the 'here he is' hint that carries a character's entrance.
