harimon Hari — the one they hold in mind accusative, object of 'meditate'हरि का (ध्यान का विषय)
ye dhyāyantithose people who meditate ye… 'the ones who'जो लोग ध्यान करते हैं
sadā udyuktāḥalways intent on it, ever engaged adverb + nominative; describes the meditatorsसदा उद्यत रहकर
tebhyaḥ apito them too — even to such devotees dative; api 'even / also'उनको भी
ihahere, in this worldयहाँ (इस मार्ग में)
namo namaḥI bow again and again repetition = repeated homageबार-बार नमस्कार है
ye — those who; harim — on Hari; pati-putra-suhṛd-bhrātṛ-pitṛ-vat — as husband, son, friend, brother, father; maitra-vat — and as a comrade; sadā udyuktāḥ — ever intent; dhyāyanti — meditate; tebhyaḥ api — to them too; iha — here; namo namaḥ — I bow again and again.
Some people meditate on Hari as their husband, their son, their friend, their brother, their father — or as a comrade. They stay always intent on this. To such devotees too, here in this world, I bow again and again.
Why cited: Cited (from the Nārāyaṇa-vyūha-stava) to show that those who steadily meditate on Hari through the loving relationships — husband, son, friend, brother, father, comrade — also deserve homage in the rāgānugā path.
suhṛd and maitra (mitra) both name friendship, but the commentators below separate them: suhṛd = a well-wisher who does you good with nothing wanted back; mitra/maitra = a friend you actually spend time and play with.

suhṛn-nirapkeṣa-hita-kārī |
suhṛt'suhṛd' means — the verse-word being defined'सुहृद्' शब्द (जिसकी व्याख्या हो रही है)
nirapekṣa-hita-kārīone who does you good expecting nothing in return text prints 'nirapkeṣa', a slip for nirapekṣa 'without expectation'जो बिना किसी अपेक्षा के हित करता है
suhṛt — the word suhṛd; nirapekṣa-hita-kārī — [means] one who does good with no expectation of return.
He defines the word suhṛd. A suhṛd is a well-wisher — someone who does you good and wants nothing back for it.
nirapekṣa = 'without looking for anything'; so a suhṛd's kindness is unconditional, unlike an ordinary friend who trades favors.

mitraṁ saha-vihārīti tayor bhedaḥ |
mitram'mitra' means — the word being defined'मित्र' शब्द (जिसकी व्याख्या हो रही है)
saha-vihārīone who plays and spends time together with you saha 'together' + vihārī 'one who roams/sports'साथ विहार करने वाला (जो साथ घूमता-क्रीड़ा करता है)
iti tayoḥ bhedaḥso this is the difference between the two (suhṛd and mitra) iti closes the gloss; tayoḥ = 'of the two'इस प्रकार उन दोनों का भेद है
mitram — the word mitra; saha-vihārī — [means] one who sports together; iti tayoḥ bhedaḥ — such is the difference between the two.
Now the word mitra. A mitra is a companion you play and share activities with. That is how the two differ: a suhṛd wishes you well with nothing wanted back, while a mitra is the friend you actually spend time with.
The pair suhṛd vs mitra: 'suhṛd' points to the intent behind the friendship (selfless goodwill), 'mitra' to the shared doing (playing together). Both are friendly bonds; the words separate the motive from the company.

The Lord says: 'For these devotees I am everything — their beloved, their own self, their son, their friend, their guru, their well-wisher, their God, the very object they worship.' This lists the many loving relationships in which he is held, matching the verse above.
Why cited: Kapiladeva's words (Bhā. 3.25.38) are quoted to confirm the verse's list of relational moods — that the Lord is meditated on as self, son, friend, guru, well-wisher and worshipped deity.

suhṛn-nirupādhi-hita-kārī |
suhṛt'suhṛd' means — the verse-word being defined'सुहृद्' शब्द (जिसकी व्याख्या हो रही है)
nirupādhi-hita-kārīone who does you good with no strings attached, no ulterior condition nirupādhi = 'free of any conditioning motive'जो बिना किसी उपाधि (शर्त) के हित करता है
suhṛt — the word suhṛd; nirupādhi-hita-kārī — [means] one who does good without any ulterior condition.
Mukunda and Viśvanātha give the same definition of suhṛd, with one word changed: a suhṛd does you good with no strings attached — no hidden condition or motive behind the kindness.
Where Jīva says nirapekṣa ('expecting nothing back'), here it is nirupādhi ('free of any conditioning factor'). Same point from two angles: the goodwill is pure — neither seeking a return nor driven by an ulterior motive.

And again the word mitra: a mitra is the companion you play and share activities with. So the two words differ — suhṛd is the selfless well-wisher, mitra the friend you spend time with.
