ity arthaḥ— that is the meaningऐसा अर्थ है
he bhāvukāḥ — 'O tender-hearted'; parama-maṅgalāyanāḥ — means those who are the abode of supreme blessing; he rasikāḥ — 'O connoisseurs'; bhagavat-prīti-rasajñāḥ — means those who know the flavor of love for the Lord; ity arthaḥ — this is the sense
Jīva unpacks the two addresses. 'Feeling-hearted ones' means people who are the very home of the highest good fortune. 'Connoisseurs' means those who already know the taste of love for Bhagavān. That is what the words mean.

Now the whole first line in prose. You just-named people: the Veda is a wish-tree, the source of every possible fruit, and by its branches and sub-branches it rises even up to Vaikuṇṭha. Its one fruit made of pure rasa is the book called Śrī-Bhāgavata. That fruit came down, stage by stage, from Vaikuṇṭha to this very earth. So even though you are stuck down here, drink it — that is, take it right inside you by tasting it.

aho iti — the 'aho'; alabhya-lābha-vyañjanā — suggests the gaining of the ungainable; bhāgavata-ākhyaṁ śāstraṁ — the Bhāgavata scripture; rasavad api — though only 'possessing' rasa; rasa-eka-mayatā-vivakṣayā — to convey that it is wholly made of rasa; rasa-śabdena nirdiṣṭam — is named simply 'rasa'
Two points. First, 'aho' signals joy at receiving what one could never have hoped to receive. Second, the verse says 'rasam,' bare 'juice.' Strictly the Bhāgavata is a scripture that has rasa. But to say it is not just flavored — it is rasa itself, all the way through — the poet drops the qualifier and calls it simply 'rasa.'

And the word 'Bhāgavata' does more work. It rules out any idea that this rasa belongs to someone other than the Lord. The name itself fences the rasa off as his alone.

bhāgavatasya tadīyatvena — because 'Bhāgavata' is the Lord's; rasasya api tadīyatva-ākṣepāt — this pulls in that the rasa is his too; śabda-śleṣeṇa ca — and by the word's double meaning; bhagavat-sambandhi-rasam iti gamyate — it is understood as 'rasa belonging to Bhagavān'
Here is how. 'Bhāgavata' means 'of Bhagavān.' Because the book is his, the rasa it names must be his as well. And the single word carries a double sense. So we read it as: the rasa that belongs to Bhagavān, the flavor bound up with him.

He backs this up. Scripture itself declares the fruit of hearing the Bhāgavata — the verse 'the very hearing of which…' and what follows. Because such a result is promised, the rasa here is devotional through and through.
Why cited: Cited (Bhā.Pu. 1.7.7) as the phala-śruti proving that merely hearing the Bhāgavata produces devotion to Kṛṣṇa — so its rasa is bhakti.

There is a deeper reason the word 'rasa' fits. The Upaniṣad uses 'rasa' as a name for Bhagavān himself — and it can do that only because he is himself made of rasa. So calling the Bhāgavata 'rasa' is no stretch; it names the Lord's own nature.

He caps the argument. If any devotee's mouth sweetens the telling, then think of Śukadeva — the Indra, the king, among the whole assembly of great devotees. Coming through his mouth, how immeasurably sweeter it must be! That 'how much more' is the point being felt.

Now he explains 'ā-layam' in the verse. Because this rasa reaches the absolute peak of sweetness, no fullness or 'that's enough' ever sets in — not from the rasa itself, not from anything outside it. So the verse says: drink it right through, so it soaks even the bliss of liberation. Even mokṣa's joy is pervaded and outdone by it.

Proof for that definition. In the Twelfth Canto the Bhāgavata is described as 'gladdening the true gods with the nectar of the mass of Hari's pastime-narrations.' There the very 'nectar' is the pastime-tales — which is why 'amṛta' here means līlā-rasa.
Why cited: Cited (Bhā.Pu. 12.13.11) where the Bhāgavata's 'nectar' is explicitly Hari's līlā-kathā — proving 'amṛta' = līlā-rasa.

He pulls the phrase together. The fruit tastes of nothing but nectar, and is soaked through with it. Falling from the mouth of such a one — the nectar-parrot on the fruit side, Śukadeva on the scripture side — it does not merely drip: it pours down in an unbroken stream. That is the force of 'amṛta-drava-saṁyutam, śuka-mukhāt galitam.'

A closing witness. Scripture says: 'once a person has caught hold of that rasa — remembering the embrace of Mukunda's feet — he could never wish to let it go again.' This shows the rasa, once tasted, is never given up: it is inexhaustible and supreme.
Why cited: Cited (Bhā.Pu. 1.5.19) that one who has once grasped this rasa never wishes to relinquish it — sealing its supremacy and its 'never satiating' quality.

Viśvanātha sets up the verse. In the previous verse the poet described this crown-jewel of scriptures on its majestic side — how it even overpowers the Lord himself, and the like. Now, with 'nigama-kalpa-taror…,' he turns to its sweet side. Majesty there, sweetness here.
aiśvarya vs mādhurya: two registers of the divine — aiśvarya is God's overwhelming lordly power (awe), mādhurya is his intimate sweetness (love). Viśvanātha frames the two consecutive verses as praising the Bhāgavata first for aiśvarya, then for mādhurya.

Now the image. The Veda is the wish-tree. True, it gives its shelter-takers every fruit they ask for — all the aims of life. But a tree also has one fruit that is simply its own, that it grows naturally, not just on request. That natural, spontaneous fruit of the Veda-tree is this: the Bhāgavata. The other fruits are granted on demand; the Bhāgavata is what the tree grew to bear.

śleṣa: the one word 'bhāgavata' carries two senses at once — 'the fruit [named Bhāgavata]' and 'that which is Bhagavān's own.' Viśvanātha lets the second sit beside the first rather than replacing it.

From him the fruit passes to the branch that is Brahmā, then lower to the branch of Nārada, then to Vyāsa, and finally reaches the mouth of Śuka. He draws the practical lesson from the descent-image. The fruit stayed whole only because it came down gently through the line of teachers. So the image quietly warns: if you try to taste the Bhāgavata by your own brainpower, skipping the guru-paramparā, you will not be able to drink it while keeping it intact. Only through the disciplic line does the nectar reach you unbroken.

He glosses 'rasikāḥ' with a full rasa-theory argument, in a chain. 'Rasikāḥ' means those who know rasa. Now: loving attachment (rati) arises only in devotees; rati alone is the sthāyi-bhāva, the standing emotion; and only a standing emotion can be developed into rasa. Put those together and it follows that the dry knowledge-seekers, the ritualists, and the yogīs have no share whatever in this rasa. Only the devotee, in whom rati has arisen, can taste it.
sthāyi-bhāva: in Sanskrit poetics, the one dominant, lasting emotion of a work that the transient feelings feed, and which alone 'ripens' into rasa. Viśvanātha imports the term: in bhakti, that standing emotion is rati (love for the Lord), found only in devotees — so only they reach the rasa.

bhāvaḥ— such is the senseभाव है
he bhāvukāḥ — 'O fortunate ones'; tata eva yūyam eva kuśalinaḥ — hence you alone are truly blessed; anye amaṅgalāḥ eva iti bhāvaḥ — others are simply luckless — this is the idea
He closes on 'bhāvukāḥ.' The word can mean both 'tender-hearted' and 'fortunate.' Since only devotees can taste this rasa, it follows that you devotees alone are the truly blessed, the ones with real good fortune — while everyone else, cut off from the rasa, is simply unfortunate. That is the note the verse ends on.
