yat-nāma-dheya-śravaṇa-anukīrtanāt — जिसके नाम के श्रवण और अनुकीर्तन (बार-बार के कीर्तन) से।
Just from hearing his name, and then chanting it again and again — this is the first of the acts the verse will build on. The 'whose' (yat) is left open on purpose: it points ahead to the Lord, named only at the end. This line gives the cause; the result comes two lines down.
जिसके नाम के श्रवण और बार-बार कीर्तन करने से।
nāma-dheya: an ordinary word for 'name, appellation'; here simply the Lord's name. The chain hearing → chanting is the standard first pair of the nine limbs of bhakti (śravaṇa, kīrtana).
'नाम-धेय' 'नाम, अभिधान' के लिए एक साधारण शब्द है; यहाँ केवल भगवान् का नाम। श्रवण से कीर्तन तक की यह श्रृंखला भक्ति के नौ अंगों में सबसे पहला युगल है (श्रवण, कीर्तन)।

yat-prahvaṇāt — जिसको प्रणाम करने से; yat-smaraṇāt — जिसका स्मरण करने से; api — भी; kvacit — कभी एक बार भी।
The list of causes continues: from bowing to him, or from remembering him. 'Even' (api) with 'at any time' (kvacit) is the punch — it need not be a lifetime of practice. Any one of these acts, done even a single time, is meant. So the setup is complete: hear, chant, bow, or remember — even once.
जिसको प्रणाम करने से, और जिसका स्मरण करने से — कभी एक बार भी।
prahvaṇa is a plain word for a bodily bow (from pra-hvā, 'to bend forward'); render it 'bowing,' not the churchy 'obeisance.'
'प्रह्वण' शारीरिक प्रणाम का सीधा-सादा शब्द है (प्र-ह्वा 'आगे झुकना' से); इसे 'झुकना, प्रणाम करना' कहें, कोई भारी-भरकम धार्मिक शब्द नहीं।

śva-adaḥ — श्वपाक (कुत्ता खाने वाला अन्त्यज); api — भी; sadyaḥ — तुरन्त; savanāya — सोमयाग के लिए; kalpate — योग्य हो जाता है।
Now the payoff. Even a dog-eater — the lowest example the tradition can name — at once, that same moment, becomes fit for the soma sacrifice. 'Fit for savana' means qualified for the highest Vedic rite, which is normally closed to all but the properly born twice-born. The point is the size of the leap: the lowest is lifted straight to the standard of the highest.
कुत्ता खाने वाला अन्त्यज भी उसी क्षण सोमयाग के लिए योग्य हो जाता है। यह एक स्थायी नियम कहा जा रहा है।
savana: in Pūrva-Mīmāṁsā and the Śrauta system, the pressing of the soma juice — the central act of the great soma sacrifice, open only to the ritually qualified twice-born. Home meaning: that specific ritual act. Here it stands for the very top of ritual eligibility, so 'fit for savana' = 'made fit for the highest of all rites.'

The verse closes with an a fortiori argument (kaimutya, 'how-much-more'). If even a dog-eater is lifted so high just by hearing, chanting, bowing, or remembering, then — O Lord — how much more must this be true of those who actually see you face to face? Seeing (darśana) is the highest of these acts, so the reward for it must be beyond all measure. The predicate 'becomes fit' carries over from the line above; the question is rhetorical — the answer is 'incomparably more.'
हे भगवन्! तो फिर आपके दर्शन से — वे तो निश्चय ही योग्य हो जाते हैं, इसका कहना ही क्या।
darśana here is literal seeing of the Lord, set as the peak above hearing, chanting, bowing, and remembering; the whole force of the verse rests on ranking it highest.

Why a caste and not an act? Because of how the word is built. Its etymology is "he eats a dog" — and the verb is present tense. Present tense marks a standing habit, an ongoing nature, not a single past meal. So the word points to people who eat dogs as their way of life: a caste.

Take the parallel word kravyād, "flesh-eater." Formed the same way, it means one whose very nature is to eat flesh — a habit, not one meal. "Dog-eater" works identically: it gives "one whose standing nature is to eat dogs." That again means a caste, a settled kind of person.
'क्रव्याद' शब्द की भाँति — क्योंकि उससे वैसा स्वभाव रखने का अर्थ प्राप्त होता है।
śīla (general: 'habit, character, disposition'; here: the ingrained nature the word-form signals). The -tva makes it 'habitualness' — 'the state of having this as one's nature.'
'शील' (सामान्यतः 'आदत, स्वभाव, प्रकृति'; यहाँ वह अन्तर्निहित स्वभाव जिसे शब्द-रूप संकेतित करता है)। '-त्व' प्रत्यय इसे 'शीलता' बना देता है — 'इसे अपना स्वभाव बना रखने की अवस्था'।

Here is the rival reading: maybe "dog-eater" means someone doing penance for having eaten dog-flesh on some one occasion. Jīva's answer: if that were meant, the verse would have used a past-tense form ("one who ate a dog"). It does not. It uses the present. So the occasional-act reading does not fit.
परन्तु यदि कभी-कभार कुत्ता खा लेने के प्रायश्चित्त की बात कहनी होती, तो भूतकाल का प्रयोग किया जाता।

A second reason, on top of the tense. There is a rule: when a word's everyday fixed meaning and its bare root-meaning pull apart, the fixed usage wins. In ordinary use "dog-eater" names the low caste. So even the purely etymological reading is blocked. The caste sense stands.
'रूढ़ि योग को हर लेती है' — इस न्याय से भी वह भूतकाल का प्रयोग विरुद्ध हो जाता है।
yoga vs rūḍhi (vyākaraṇa/Mīmāṁsā semantics): yoga is a word's meaning built from its roots (like 'pankaja' = 'mud-born' → anything born in mud); rūḍhi is its locked conventional use ('pankaja' = the lotus only). The maxim: where they clash, convention prevails.

This is exactly why the revered Svāmin glossed the word as śvapaca, "dog-cooker" — plainly a caste-name. Jīva cites this authority as confirming his own reading: the verse means a person of that low birth.
इसीलिए उन पूज्य श्रीधर स्वामीचरणों ने इसे 'श्वपच' कहकर व्याख्या की।

Now the point of it all. Even one act — hearing the Lord's name, or chanting, bowing, remembering — instantly does two things for this low-born man. First it destroys the prārabdha sin (the karma already bearing fruit) that had caused his low birth in the first place, the birth blocking his eligibility. Then, in its place, it gives him the merit that produces a birth fit for the soma sacrifice. So on the spot he becomes qualified. The verse's "at once becomes fit" is thus fully explained by a real change of status, not loose praise.
और इसी से इस श्वपच को भगवान् के नाम-श्रवण आदि में से किसी एक ही कर्म से तुरन्त वह पुण्य प्राप्त हो जाता है। पहले उसका प्रतिकूल नीच-जन्म देने वाला प्रारब्ध पाप नष्ट होता है, फिर वही पुण्य सोमयाग-योग्य जन्म उत्पन्न करता है — इस प्रकार सोमयाग की योग्यता आ जाती है।

An analogy makes it plain. Take brāhmaṇas. Their ordinary birth from the father has no low-caste defect at all — they are already well-born. Even so, before they may perform the soma sacrifice they need a further, second birth: the sāvitra birth, conferred at initiation through the Gāyatrī, which gives sacrifice-fit status. The mapping: the brāhmaṇa's clean physical birth is like the dog-eater's case after his sin is gone; the required sāvitra birth is like the merit-born sacrifice-fit birth the Lord's name grants him. The point proved: needing an added qualifying birth before the sacrifice is normal — so it is no strange thing that the dog-eater, too, gains one. The analogy shows the mechanism is ordinary; it does not equate the two births in origin (one from a rite, one from the Lord's name).
जैसे ब्राह्मणों में शुक्र से हुए प्रथम जन्म में नीच-जन्म न होने पर भी सोमयाग के लिए उत्तम जाति देने वाले सावित्री (गायत्री-दीक्षा) से हुए द्वितीय जन्म की अपेक्षा होती है — वैसे ही यहाँ।
sāvitra birth (dharmaśāstra: the 'second birth' given by the upanayana initiation and the imparting of the Sāvitrī/Gāyatrī mantra, making a twice-born eligible for Vedic ritual; here: the extra qualifying birth even a well-born brāhmaṇa must have before he may sacrifice).
'सावित्र जन्म' (धर्मशास्त्र: उपनयन-संस्कार और सावित्री/गायत्री मन्त्र के प्रदान से प्राप्त 'द्वितीय जन्म', जो द्विज को वैदिक यज्ञ का अधिकारी बनाता है; यहाँ वह अतिरिक्त योग्यता-जनक जन्म जो सुजन्मा ब्राह्मण को भी यज्ञ से पूर्व अपेक्षित है)।

tasmād bhaktiḥ punāti man-niṣṭhā śvapākān api sambhavāt iti tu kaimutyārtham eva proktam ity āyāti ||
tasmāt"therefore" — the opening word of the Bhāgavata line he is about to quote part of the quoted verse, not Jīva's own connective'इसलिए' (यह उद्धृत श्लोक का अंश है, जीव का अपना योजक नहीं)
bhaktiḥdevotion — the subject of the quoted lineभक्ति
punātipurifiesपवित्र कर देती है
man-niṣṭhāfixed on Me (says Kṛṣṇa) — devotion settled on the Lordमुझमें निष्ठा रखने वाली, मुझ पर आश्रित
śvapākān apieven dog-cookers — even the lowest by casteश्वपचों को भी
sambhavātbecause it is possible / because such cases occur — the reason given in the verse ablative of reason, inside the quoteक्योंकि उसमें यह सामर्थ्य है (हेतु में पञ्चमी, उद्धरण के भीतर)
iti— closing the quotation: "[this line]"ऐसा (यह वचन)
tubut / as for that line — turning from the quote to what it is really doingतो (उद्धरण से बाहर, जीव का अपना शब्द)
kaimutyārthamfor the sake of the "how much more" argument — the a-fortiori point (if even the lowest, then how much more the rest) 'with the purpose of the kaimutya (a-fortiori) reasoning'कैमुत्य (कम से अधिक की सिद्धि) के प्रयोजन से
evasolely / precisely — for that purpose and no otherही (केवल इसी प्रयोजन से)
proktamwas spoken / stated — that is why the line was utteredकहा गया है
iti āyāti— so it comes out / this is where it lands: Jīva's closing verdict 'thus it turns out'ऐसा फलित होता है, यही निकल आता है
"tasmāt bhaktiḥ punāti man-niṣṭhā śvapākān api sambhavāt" iti tu — but as for the line "therefore devotion fixed on Me purifies even dog-cookers, since it is possible"; kaimutyārtham eva proktam — it was spoken solely for the sake of the "how much more" argument; iti āyāti — so it comes out
tasmāt bhaktiḥ punāti man-niṣṭhā śvapākān api sambhavāt — इसलिए मुझमें निष्ठा रखने वाली भक्ति अपनी सामर्थ्य से श्वपचों को भी पवित्र कर देती है; iti tu — यह वचन तो; kaimutyārtham eva proktam — कैमुत्य के प्रयोजन से ही कहा गया है; iti āyāti — ऐसा फलित होता है।
Jīva closes by placing the famous Bhāgavata line: "devotion fixed on Me purifies even dog-cookers, since such cases occur." His verdict: that line is stated purely to drive the "how much more" point. If devotion can purify even the very lowest, then how much more everyone else. So the line is not lowering the bar — it is making an a-fortiori argument, and that is exactly what our verse's "how much more those who see You" is doing too.
इसलिए 'मुझमें निष्ठा रखने वाली भक्ति अपनी सामर्थ्य से श्वपचों को भी पवित्र कर देती है' — यह वचन तो केवल कैमुत्य (कम से अधिक की सिद्धि) के प्रयोजन से ही कहा गया है, ऐसा फलित होता है।
Why cited: the Bhāgavata line 'bhakti fixed on Me purifies even dog-cookers' is cited to show it functions as a 'how much more' (kaimutya) argument — matching the mūla's own 'how much more those who see You.'
क्यों उद्धृत: भागवत की यह पंक्ति 'मुझमें स्थित भक्ति श्वपाकों तक को पवित्र कर देती है' इसलिए उद्धृत है कि यह 'तो और कितना अधिक' (कैमुत्य) युक्ति का काम करती है — जो मूल के अपने 'फिर उनका तो कहना ही क्या जो आपको देखते हैं' से मेल खाती है।
kaimutya (from 'kim uta,' 'how much more'): the a-fortiori move — if the extreme case holds (even the lowest is purified), the ordinary case holds all the more.
'कैमुत्य' ('किम् उत' अर्थात् 'फिर कितना अधिक' से): न्याय की 'तो और कितना अधिक' वाली चाल — यदि चरम स्थिति सिद्ध हो जाए (अधम-से-अधम भी शुद्ध हो जाए), तो सामान्य स्थिति तो और भी सुतराम् सिद्ध है।
